Clean, Safe, Affordable

Clean, safe and affordable drinking water is a requirement for all New Zealand communities. With this in mind, in 2017 Southern Cross Consulting Ltd secured an exclusive licence to sell tried and tested systems that safely produce hypochlorite solution for the chlorination of drinking water.  Our systems use Calcium Hypochlorite, which provides many benefits over alternative chlorine options such as chlorine gas or Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach). So whether it's for municipal applications, or small community applications, we have the affordable, clean, and safe solution for you.

Product Overview

Calcium Hypochlorite is manufactured in the United States by the largest calcium hypochlorite manufacturer globally: Arch Chemicals (a subsidiary of Lonza) which includes the well-known HTH and Constant Chlor Plus™ brands.  The major advantages of these chlorine delivery systems is safety and quality, in comparison with chlorine gas and sodium hypochlorite (bleach) for various scientific, regulated and practical reasons (see table).

The NSF approved and patented feeder systems are designed and developed by Lonza US to produce fresh hypochlorite solution for use in sanitisation of drinking, sewage and process water.

The calcium hypochlorite briquette product (HTH or Constant Chlor Plus™) is 68% chlorine. When used in conjunction with these feeder systems they produce a fresh 1.3% chlorine solution, safely and consistently, ready to be injected into any drinking or sewage water treatment system.

Municipal Application

For our municipal customers the Constant Chlor™ MC4 series feeder systems provide an industrialised, robust and intelligent unit. The original design originated in the United States, but has been adapted and improved to suit the needs of the New Zealand market.

There are two models, the MC4-50 (NZ) and the MC4-150 (NZ).  In terms of operation, safety, alarms and interface, both models are identical, providing the user with a state of the art colour touchscreen interface.  The main difference is the size of Briquette hopper capacity and volume of hypochlorite solution produced. These systems are ideal for water treatment facilities of 1 - 50 MLD or higher if multiple units are installed. Refer to data sheets for full details.

The Constant Chlor™ MC4 series feeder range comes as a complete operating system, securely mounted on a self-contained chemical bund with level monitoring and alarm.  Each unit is a simple ‘Plug & Play’ installation.  Simply connect to a pressurised water supply, plug into a standard 10A electrical outlet, load with Briquettes and switch on.

Dosing pumps and chlorine monitors/controls are not supplied as part of the standard system, but can be fitted on request to best suit each application.

Small Community Application

For customers with smaller communities or private water schemes, the CCH Endurance system is an excellent cost-effective option. Originally developed for swimming pool applications, the system is ideal for low flows and/or simplicity of operation is important.

The CCH Endurance dispenser is a light but robust feeder system that uses the CCH Endurance tablets (similar chemistry as HTH or Constant Chlor Plus™) with slow release properties.  Once installed, it provides a constant supply of chlorine without any electrical power requirements, simply utilising the water pressure available.  There is no control system, alarms or operator interface.
